EMOTIONAL GOVERNANCE I + II
2023
130 x 130 cm
Acryl und UV Druck auf Wolle und Satin, Plexiglas
The work Emotional Governance questions the hegemony of the social institution of the family and analyses its ideologization in the broader political context of populism and polarization. While Emotional Governance I examines the US context, Emotional Governance II looks at the German context. Like a collage, the work brings together in different layers on a woollen fabric abstracted images of the Capitol Insurrection in 2021 or the storming of the Reichstag in 2020 with stock photos of families and scientific data on polarization in the USA and the occurrence of political violence in Germany.
