Family is what society makes of it - the work Familiar Framings critically examines the iconography and hegemonic power of the social institution of the family and its ideologization.
In particular, the work examines the visual framings of family policy used by conservative and right-wing parties to promote and naturalize the concept of the “natural family” as a form of legitimation of conservative values.
