Metapolitics In Domestic Disguise explores the visual aesthetics used by the German New Right on the social media platform Instagram to attract a young audience. The visual themes, many of which revolve around traditionalism and femininity, specifically overlap with mainstream aesthetics on the platform. By relating the visual themes to the fascist characteristics identified by Umberto Eco in his essay “Ur-Fascism”, the work attempts to deconstruct the aesthetic and place it in the context of its dense ideology.
